Type 2 inflammation is an immune response pattern to certain environmental triggers. It can be associated with the onset of several chronic conditions:

- **Moderate-to-severe asthma** and **chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)** are conditions that affect the respiratory system
- **Nasal polyps** is a condition that affects the sinuses
- **Moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (eczema), bullous pemphigoid, chronic spontaneous urticaria (hives),** and **prurigo nodularis** are conditions that affect the skin
- **Eosinophilic esophagitis** is a condition that affects the digestive system
